Tanning Guidelines

Before Tanning

Exfoliate your skin

Make sure skin is dry and free of oily/greasy product

Remove all make-up, dirt, oil, moisturizers, deodorants and perfumes

Please stay away from products such as Dove as they have high level or moisturizing agents that may affect the solution’s absorption process into your skin

Complete any facials, manicures/pedicures, massage, waxing, and shaving BEFORE your tan

Be sure to have dark, loose fitting clothing, flip flops. Jeans, boots, tights yoga pants are not ideal

Male Tanners must have swim trunks on. No Exceptions. We have the right to refuse service to anyone who does not follow the requirement.

During your airbrush tan

At Organic Shimmer, our customers’ safety and satisfaction is our #1 priority. During your spray tan sessions,we provide nose filters and eye covers.

Although Organic Shimmer stand by the fact that spray tanning is a safe alternative way to tan, we are aware that the FDA has warned the general public that the safest way to spray tan is to wear protective eye and nose gear.

We want to ensure that each spray tan client is confident that their spray tan experience not only leaves them the perfect color but it is also safe and comfortable.

Post tanning

Avoid showering, sweating, lotion, and exposure to water for 8 to 10 hours after your tanning session.

You should avoid jacuzzi’s, hot tubs, chlorine, and very long hot showers as it may accelerate exfoliation and fade your tan.

During your first shower, the cosmetic bronzer that was applied will wash off. What is left behind is a beautiful, sunless tan.

Moisturize the entire body twice daily, in the morning and evening. Hydrating your skin is essential in keeping your tan alive, and is the secret to maintaining a beautiful and longer lasting tan. Suggested moisturizer to use would be Aveeno.
